November 2009 // AIGA Award

The DILLINGER! exhibition has been selected as one of the best design projects in Indy over the last year. It's being featured over at the Dean Johnson Gallery in the AIGA Prime Design Awards Show through the month of November. Check it out!

August 2009 // More publishing!

Our CODO Stationery and the Dillinger Exhibition are being featured in a few upcoming design books from China's Art Power Publishing House. The books will be in Mandarin which is super cool and already making me feel designerly and snooty.

August 2009 // Gumption

After nearly a year of planning, I've officially launched CODO Design with two incredibly talented friends and designers — Robby Cooper and Cody Fague. We're already working on some great projects and are hoping to impact as many local non-profits as possible through our research-driven design process.

Our Press Release

July 2009 // I'm getting published!

Underconsideration, one of the most respected thought-leaders in the graphic design industry is compiling a book of interesting portfolio presentations and have chosen to include mine! Unfortunately, this project is still in its infancy and probably a year or two out, but I'm still really excited to have my work featured by such a prominent organization — in a book no less!

You can view my portfolio building process at the Lighter Side.

July 2009 // My work's in the news!

An exhibition I've been working on since January about John Dillinger and the public enemies of 1933–34 has finally opened and is getting great reviews.

You can read about it here, watch a video here and visit the website here.

May 2009 // Huzzah!

I entered college as a pudgy and gregarious teenager, ready to blaze my way through a biology degree en route to a career tracking wolves and flyfishing my life away in Wyoming.

I leave college as a pudgy and laconic 23 year-old designer with a wonderful girlfriend of three years, a healthy family and a much clearer vision of what I want to do with my life.

A huge thanks to the wonderful faculty at Herron School of Art and Design — it's been an incredible 4 years.

March 2009 // Accolade

I've been selected as one of the top 100 design students in the nation to participate in the 2009 ADC National Student Portfolio Review in New York City. It's a great honor and should be a wonderful opportunity to meet some amazing designers as well as cap off the world-class education I've received at Herron School of Art and Design.
